The beach is a fantastic place to go to explore with your pooch. Pebbles, sand, rocky outcrops and sand dunes all add a variety of different textures, sights and smells. This is all enrichment for your dog. Spending time sniffing and exploring is both physically and mentally hard work.
If you are lucky enough to live near the beach then your dog will regularly get access to all of this which is fantastic but those of you who don’t, expect a very happy sleepy pup after exploring.
If the beach is new for your dog it may be wise to keep them on the lead or place them on a longline if you aren’t sure how all the excitement will affect their listening abilities!
Get out there and explore these beautiful areas. It’s not only good for your dog but good for you too!
